The famed Churchill Downs Racetrack is receiving a luxurious upgrade just in time for its 150th anniversary!
Dubbed the “Paddock Project,” it’s the culmination of an extensive, multi-year renovation aimed at making the historic track even more impressive. This phase alone carries a hefty \$200 million price tag.
What awaits racing enthusiasts when it debuts at the 2024 Kentucky Derby?
Imagine this: the renowned Twin Spires will be even more awe-inspiring with enhanced views from the entirely revamped paddock zone. Moving through the throngs will be effortless, and everything will boast a chic, contemporary ambiance.
Speaking of throngs, they’ve increased spectator capacity by over double, expanding from an intimate 5,000 square feet to a spacious 12,000 square feet. And for those seeking an elevated experience, there will be brand new opulent club areas featuring private dining, exclusive viewing locations, and every imaginable amenity.
This is merely the newest in a series of thrilling enhancements, including the recent Finish Line Club and the First Turn experience, both seemingly primed for the approaching Kentucky Derby celebrations.
This is revolutionary, among the most substantial endeavors we’ve tackled at Churchill Downs,” remarked Bill Carstanjen, Chief Executive Officer of Churchill Downs Incorporated. “We’ve meticulously crafted something intended not merely to transform the appearance of Churchill Downs, but also to enable us to better cater to our enthusiasts and fulfill the demands of forthcoming generations.”
