The wagering firm, Betfred, has contributed a substantial £30,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support, strengthening the organization’s mission to deliver crucial assistance to individuals battling cancer.
This remarkable amount encompasses £9,793 gathered during both the PDC World Darts Championship and the Women’s World Darts Championship. Betfred committed to donating £50 for each 180 points scored throughout the competitions and an additional £1 for every point earned during the Nine-Dart Charity Challenge, where skilled players and well-known figures aimed for a worthy endeavor.
This marks the second year in a row that Betfred has opted to back Macmillan Cancer Support, adding to their record of philanthropic contributions. Since assuming the role of primary sponsor for the World Darts Championship in 2019, Betfred has consistently garnered support for groups such as Parkinson’s UK and the Stroke Association.
Fred Done, the head of Betfred, remarked, “Backing these tournaments is invariably a peak moment of the year for us at Betfred, but we also acknowledge the chance it affords to contribute and aid deserving organizations like Macmillan Cancer Support.”
The current PDC World Darts Champion, Gerwyn Price, expressed great happiness at the contribution, stating, “It’s wonderful to witness Betfred supporting Macmillan Cancer Support in this manner. Their work is incredibly vital, and knowing we’ve gathered such a remarkable amount for them is truly significant.”
