Nevadas gaming income dipped to $1.29 billion in March.
Nevadas gambling earnings in March reached $1.29 billion, marking a 3.7% decrease from the preceding month.
The earnings were lower than February’s $1.34 billion and also down 1.5% from the same time frame last year. The state collected $86.5 million in taxes during that period.
Slot machines remain the primary gambling product, accounting for 67.8% of the month’s total income at $874.5 million. Nevada’s slot machine earnings in March were up 5.7% from February. However, multi-denomination slot machines were the only machines in the sector to record year-over-year growth.
Meanwhile, table, counter, and card games generated $415.9 million in revenue, down 19.2% from February. While baccarat revenue fell 36.3% from $180.1 million to $114.7 million, it remained the biggest winner in table, counter, and card games.
Despite the decrease in March, Nevadas gambling income for the current fiscal year to date has accumulated to $11.92 billion, up 4.44% from the same period last year.
Nevada sports betting income declined despite March Madness.
Despite March Madness, Nevada’s sports betting income decreased to $29.8 million in March.
This was a 37.8% decline from the preceding month, although February included the Super Bowl, which was held in Nevada.
The Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers with a score of 25-22 at Allegiant Stadium.
Although the Las Vegas Strip witnessed over $800 million in income during February, Nevada couldn’t maintain that prosperity.
The Strip produced only $715.9 million in income in March, a 10.6% decrease from the $800.7 million in February. The March figures also dropped 1.2% from the $724.6 million generated in the same month last year.
Basketball income was $32.5 million, but a $12.9 million loss in the football sector significantly reduced profits largely generated by March Madness.
Slot machine income on the Strip totaled $401.4 million, an increase from $381 million the previous month. However, table, counter, and card game income came in at $314.4 million, a drop of over 25% from the $419.7 million in February.
Including Strip income, Clark County casinos generated a combined $1.13 billion in income in March, down 1.55% from the same month last year.
The Las Vegas Strip also experienced a decline in income in March.
