Massachusetts Receives 29 Applications for Sports Betting Licenses

The Massachusetts Gaming Authority (MGA) revealed that twenty-nine prospective candidates have shown interest in the state’s fresh sports wagering permits.

The state’s regulatory body issued a request for data (RFD) on October 7th, a necessary action for Massachusetts sports betting operators to apply. Interested parties had until October 17th to submit the RFD so that the MGA could start examining those intending to apply.

The MGA stated that they received twenty-nine RFDs from operators for Category 1, 2, and 3 sports betting permits by the deadline. Three of these were linked to Category 1 permits, three from parties interested in Category 2 permits, and twenty-three from potential Category 3 permit applicants.
