Playtech Partners with Française des Jeux to Offer Poker Network Services

Playtech has entered into a partnership with Française des Jeux (FDJ), a French operator.

The agreement will enable FDJ to leverage Playtech’s poker network services and content, including cash tables, poker tournaments, and Twister Poker.

FDJ will also become a member of Playtech’s Ipoker.eu network, which operates in various markets across Europe.

“Playtech has a solid reputation as a poker network and content provider in regulated markets throughout Europe,” stated Richard Courtois, CEO of FDJ’s Sports division.

“The company’s involvement in our selection process demonstrates a clear commitment and a deep understanding of our long-term strategy.

“Thanks to Playtech, we are thrilled to offer our players a new array of games. This move enables FDJ to finalize its deployment in the French open competition market. This is based on a business model that combines performance and responsibility to ensure gaming remains enjoyable.”

The French online gambling market is expanding.

The French regulatory body for wagering, the National Gaming Authority (ANJ), has declared that France’s total gambling earnings reached an all-time peak in 2022. The yearly earnings for the twelve months ending on December 31, 2022, amounted to €12.9 billion (£11.08 billion/$14.04 billion).

France’s online gambling market earnings increased by 0.8% to €2.18 billion. Of this, sports wagering accounted for 64%, online poker for 20%, and horse racing betting for 16%.

Online poker had the most successful earnings performance among all online games in 2022, reaching €442 million, up from €421 million in 2021.

Online sports wagering earnings reached €1.38 billion, another record high. The 8.3% stake here also set a new record.

Meanwhile, lotteries generated €5.6 billion in revenue in 2022, a 10.2% rise from 2021.

Casinos generated €2.5 billion in earnings for the year, up from €1.08 billion in 2021, slightly higher than the €2.4 billion pre-pandemic in 2019.
